1) Who are you?
Well, many answers to this, Alex Daly, Greentwo, and Toren DM, are all names I have gone by at some time or another, but if you mean personality, I think Nguvu best described me as a Paranoid Radical Zealot, although many have called me an idealist, and others 'that realism guy' but in the end, who knows what we all will be tomorrow.
2) How long have you followed the development of Atriarch?
August of 2000.
3) What game(s) did you play before finding out about Atriarch?
I've played MUDs and EverQuest, and keep playing Starcraft, HL, and Tribes when my friends are playing.
Gaming Aspects
1) What gaming design aspect are you glad is included in the game?
For quite a time I have enjoyed the realism Atriarch offered, but it seems time is cutting short my hopes, however the possibilites in Atriarch exceed by far all the other games currently on the marketplace. I'd have to say the physics engine to most accurately describe what I love about Atriarch.
2) What would you like included in/removed from the game?
I would like anything that takes jobs away from players to be removed (global chat, food) It just takes away from the experience if an army of 50,000 people can march through a desert without suffering any fatigue and that a shap rider who sees the army can tell someone instantaneously halfway across the globe everything about it.
3) How much/what innovation do you think Atriarch brings to the industry?
A dynamic world, Atriarch is built not to be a game, but to be an experience, the fun comes in that you make the world and the world revolves around each person. You never know what will happen next.
Atriarch Community
1) What factors build/destroy the Atriarch community?
Well the easiest answer is activity, debates bring in more people because they see that we are here, we are active, and we care about the game. The two ways to destroy the community are to have everyone be inactive or to have a d00d community or as Zang calls them, Barbarians. They flame and post such horrible things that no one wants to be near them, it is a truly sad sight to see.
2) How can the schism between longtime and new followers of the game be breached?
Well, Soralis seems to be doing a good job of welcoming the visitors and showing them links to all the important details, but perhaps before beta we should compile all the information into one newbie section so that the masses can see for themselves what we are about.
3) Should visibility in the community curry special favour in the (pre-)game?
It already does, visible people are more likely to get a beta spot, and beta testers know more about the game so therefore will do better after release, theres not much more they can do for us.
Discussions
1) Where can people find your threads (site/url)?
Mostly on Stratics although occasionally I'll pop in on the other sites and see what is happening.
2) What thread was your favourite to start or see thrive (site/url)?
I would have to say the QoTW threads, and my Food thread, although all the political intrigue with factions can be very interesting also.
3) What do you think should be discussed more amongst the communities?
How to get more people interested in Atriarch and what we plan to do during Beta.
Other aspects you think would interest folks?
