  Torpors Edge Atriarch Music CD
  Atriarch Music CD #1

Atriarch Watcher...We're watching. Are you?

Atriarch Community Profiles: Req

Introduction

1) Who are you?
In three letters: req. But in so many more words: I've gone from Requiem to Taliesin, to Fuhmr, back to Requiem again, and then a zillion variants. I'm a high school student (a junior at this point) and I like to make music.

2) How long have you followed the development of Atriarch?
Pretty much a year (as of this month, January).

3) What game(s) did you play before finding out about Atriarch?
Well, I beta tested Asheron's Call. But my true love was Team Fortress (an old team multiplayer mod for Quake). I was known as Fod (short for Cannon Fodder) and played the good ol' canalzon servers all the time. Yep, those were the days ...

Gaming Aspects

1) What gaming design aspect are you glad is included in the game?
A truly dynamic world. I'm talking about a world where every player makes a difference, not just socially but also physically (within virtual bounds, of course). There will be real communities; in effect, if this comes out soon, it may in fact be the first truly virtual world, since EverCamp and Asheron's Whine were mostly hackfests.

2) What would you like included in/removed from the game?
I would really like to see player made music (I remember discussing that a lot) in Atriarch, and I know it would work, but they already have a soundtrack and probably don't want us players in the way.

3) How much/what innovation do you think Atriarch brings to the industry?
I think that Atriarch will prove to the world that you don't have to confirm to convention to succeed; however, in two or three years, the revolution and innovation displayed by Serafina and World Fusion will become convention. The truly dynamic world feature is a prime example.

Atriarch Community

1) What factors build/destroy the Atriarch community?
I think that the strongest binding factor in our community is friendship. Once we get to know the other folks around here, we want to hang out with them more. Also, the fact that the developers are active in our community still blows me away. That's frickin awesome! Kudos to you, Serafina!

2) How can the schism between longtime and new followers of the game be breached?
Longtime community members should be kind and welcoming to "newbies". We should treat them like people, and introduce them to others. Simply by respecting others, we can create a stronger and more fun community.

3) Should visibility in the community curry special favour in the (pre-)game?
Sure, why not? Doesn't it already? I remember Serafina saying something to the likeness of, "If we recognize you, you'll make beta." HI SERAFINA! REMEMBER ME? =P

Discussions

1) Where can people find your threads (site/url)?
All over the Atriarch Stratics forums: at.stratics.com ... I should probably start posting on xrg, or Herok might hang me.

2) What thread was your favourite to start or see thrive (site/url)?
Ahh, man, now I have to dig it out. That would be this one: "Ok, let's talk seriously about what we want". I like it because it was so intense -- it was also an inspiration for an old project of mine, Memoirs of a Lokai. It was certainly a very interesting time for the Atriarch community.

3) What do you think should be discussed more amongst the communities?
I don't believe any specific topic deserves a larger amount of discussion, but diversity of discussion is very important -- if we keep it going on all ends, we can keep everyone interested.

Other aspects you think would interest folks?
Not really -- I tend to be rather uninteresting. =P
