Atriarch Watcher: UnOfficial Glossary It is unofficial as it represents a glossary of words used by World Fusion, but not all are defined by them. This glossary was created with acknowledgement to the Official Atriarch FAQ, the Creature Animations, World Stories, and those members of the community who have noticed/collected the words as they are released. Afton/Spawn of Afton - A story from WF released so far in two parts, a text part one and a movie part 2. Some debate was originally place on what happened in the end of the movie, though I have on good word that it does relate to the "curse" of spawning two at once, and that we are all in for some interesting surprise. Altoos - Name of the solar object that Atriana orbits. Atriana - Name of the world on which the game is played. Atriarch - A leader of an empire and major faction on the world of Atriana; also the name of the game. Atrios - The leader of a minor faction. Avatar - Player character; the physical and visual representation of your character in the game; represents you as a player; you control the avatar (see also: Character). Aub - A measurement of Atrian time; approximately the time it takes Altoos and one of Atriana's moons to complete a full orbit (One Atrian day is approximately 5 Terran hours). Beowulf - A cluster of servers which dynamically distributes the load and is very scaleable. Being used to run Atriarch. Beta - "Pre-alpha testing and alpha testing will be a very small group of hand-picked people. We are not going to have sign-ups for it. Beta will be different. We will have people sign up for beta much like they do every other game. Beta will start (and end) sometime in 2001. The best way to be chosen is to stay active on the Atriarch discussion boards." Cavolon - Player species, masters of plant life. {image} Cavolon Experimentation Labs
Character - Sentient species native to Atriana who has been given personality, history, and purpose by either the game designers or the players; characters are classified as either an Avatar or Native. Dobi - Eshlar currency. Stone chips. Entrop - Native Priests that can perform Lineage Ceremony/Quest for spawning. Though all species use their services, they are fallible but not easy targets. When ground, it produces a fine yellow dust that assists in Aggression mind-alteration. Guides [image] - The guides are meant to be simply that, guides. The Cavolon Guide, for example, is named that because the Cavolon Continent is where the creature is native to. The guides are intelligent species and not just dumb animals. They may take you where you want to go or they may mislead you, depending on what you are willing to pay them. There will be guides for each species but it does not mean that only that species can use that guide. Hyra - a game played primarily by the Unarran to stave the boredom of animal training. Khanja - Also known as a Lifestaff, the Lokai carry them and inscribe great journeys upon them. Lifestaff - Also known as a Khanja, the Lokai carry them and inscribe great journeys upon them. Whenever a Lokai discovers something new, charts a new land, or is a part of a significant event, the Lokai's travels are made a part of the Loshan Kilar. The Journey is named after the honored Lokai, and it is forever remembered for its contributions to Lokai culture. Magic - There is no magic in Atriarch. Atriarch is science-fiction. Although it may not yet be understood by the inhabitants of Atriana, everything has a basis in the science and physics of the world. Mantar, Gentar, Devar - The three moons of Atriana. Mantar, moon of fury summons the harsh winds. Genter, moon of frost, summons the icy cold fronts. Devar, moon of fire, summons the scorching fires.
