Unarra
{mandor} any more progress on wether or not there will be humans on atriana?
{Serafina} mandor... that issue I must honestly say has been moved to the back of the line
{Serafina} We will pick it up again soon. At this point, I am leaning away from humans.
{Serafina} but then again, that doesn't mean away from humanoid. The Unarra have always been... well, shall we say... humanoid
{DavidQuick} I wanted to lead an uprising via la Planet of the Apes
{Serafina} but don't quote me (like I know you will), I will probably change my mind again
{Serafina} Until we have to make a final decision on the Unarra, it will probably be up in the air
The Spin spun
{mandor} btw.. the Spin bit has helped me prove to my trendy friends that Atriach is cool...
{Serafina} of course, they chose the ugliest picture possible to put in there
{Serafina} I don't know why magazines do that
{Serafina} I give them all these awesome shots
Gameplay Demo...Coming Soon
{Serafina} I'm gathering lots of gameplay and demo movies to evaluate them.
{Serafina} We are making a gameplay/demo movie and I'm trying to get some ideas.
{Ericist} ooh movie ideas...I got two for ya, if you want em :)
{Serafina} Ericist... yes, please
{DavidQuick} We'll settle for screen shots
{Serafina} dq... yes, but publishers won't. We have to make a movie to send to publishers and investors.
{Serafina} That's why we are taking the time to make one. Unfortunately, it distracts a bit from our other things we have to do. So much to do, so little time.
{Ericist} Ok, first off, one thing I love is if I feel like I'm emersed in this giant story.. like i'm living in a novel, the whole mysterious glimpse of glory thing makes me wet myself
{Sarvas} sorry, not an idea for a game movie.. but still damn interesting
{Serafina} Ericist... yes, I love that stuff too. Our first movie will probably be a little more "functional" or "practical" The really cool epic stuff is a lot harder to do than to just show the game, etc.
{Serafina} Ericist.. did you see our spawn of afton 2 movie? That is more story-like
{Serafina} That took a very long time to make
{mandor} be sure to show some player built strucutres.. and mounts..
{mandor} things that other games do poorly at the moment..
{Serafina} mandor... the first movie will probably focus on showing characters and some building
{Ericist} ok the second idea is a slice of life type of thing, a camera flying thru the everyday life on atriana, stopping and showing different features such as building, fighting, chatting, whatever you want people to see, etc
{Ericist} that way people not only get a sense of what its like visually but also everything you can do
{mandor} include a shot of each race.. even if it's only for a sec and show the inventory screen..
{Serafina} that would be great if everything you could do was actually already in the game *sighs* Those are some good ideas. We have a long list of them and are sorting through what is actually viable in the time (and equipment) that we have.
{Serafina} Well, the movie will be a mix of pre-rendered and in-game stuff... to make it more interesting.
Lokai Leak
{Porkminer} Show them that nifty Lokai music QT movie.
{Serafina} We may try telling a story, but that is a lot more difficult. I don't know if we'll have time. We don't have the same nuclear equipment that most companies have... hehe.. we have to rely on our underpowered desktops :-( But we will get something out, hopefully in about a month... but don't quote me on that.
{Serafina} Porkminer... hehe.. that wasn't even supposed to be released. They did that as a test.
Plillar Clone
{mandor} and the pillar clone that freaked me out
{Serafina} the plillar clone was my monster :-)
{Serafina} Ya, I storyboarded and designed that movie... needless to say it was one of my favorites. Of course, Mo actually did the movie.
{Serafina} I'm not an artist.
